The Pulse of Amsterdam — an iconic building focused on sustainability and liveability — has been sold to Union Investment. With developers VORM and Edge at the helm, The Pulse of Amsterdame will offer a unique living and working environment to the residents of Zuidas, Amsterdam. After its completion in 2024, The Pulse of Amsterdam will consist of 200 apartments, 36,000m2 of office space, a cinema and various hospitality and retail units.

The building has been designed to integrate innovative, circular elements and to operate as sustainably as possible. With over 7,000m2 of solar panels and numerous innovations, this development is set to receive a BREEAM Outstanding certification. The project aims to limit energy and water consumption, and focuses on biodiversity. Sustainability is an inextricable element within the concept. In addition, both developers are aiming to achieve a WELL Platinum certification.

Affordable living, working and leisure

The demand for affordable housing in Amsterdam is greater than ever. With 151 mid-price rental homes, The Pulse of Amsterdam contributes to the Municipality of Amsterdam’s ambition to realise 1,670 mid-price rental homes annually. Besides homes, The Pulse of Amsterdame offers 3,000m2 of cinema space, 1,600m2 of hospitality units, 350m2 of retail space and 36,000m2 of office space.

The Pulse of Amsterdam is a design by MVSA Architects in collaboration with VMX Architects. Other partners who have worked on The Pulse of Amsterdam are Van Rossum, DGMR, Van Toorenburg, Delva Landscape Architecture, C2N, HFB Groep and Eteck.
